SOL Testing
Our teachers have worked to ensure our Cougars spent this past school year immersed in engaging educational experiences. Our Cougars have worked hard and we are excited for the opportunity for our 3rd -5th graders to show what they've learned this year.
We encourage all students to give their best effort on their upcoming SOLs and to remember they are not defined by their scores on these assessments. Families, thank you for ensuing your student is on time and well rested during SOL testing. Also, please do not schedule appointments/early pick-ups for your student on his/her testing days. Thank you for your support.

Families are invited to check out a game for the weekend and return it on Monday so teachers can use it. This project is funded through the York Foundation for Public Education and aims to provide an innovative way for teachers and families to practice academic skills. Month of the Military Child April is designated as the Month of the Military Child. We look forward to celebrating and honoring our military students and parents! Purple Up Day is Wednesday, April 16, 2025. “Purple Up! For Military Kids” is observed to show support for military connected students. YCSD would like for every student AND staff member to wear purple to show support and appreciation. Purple is chosen because it represents the blending of all military colors.
