Second Grade Salad Party: From Seed to Salad!
Our second graders recently celebrated a special Salad Party after weeks of hands-on learning and growing! Partnering with Sodexo, students planted lettuce seeds in their classrooms and cared for them as they sprouted and grew. When harvest time arrived, they explored the root structures of their plants and learned about how food grows. The highlight of the day was creating their own fresh salads with all the tasty toppings—and enjoying the fruits (or greens!) of their hard work. This project was a wonderful way to connect science, healthy eating, and teamwork!
